Review:- Essence Legends of the sky nailpolish

Heyy Beauties,

A few weeks ago I purchased several Essence and Catrice products from Tony's Pharmacy in Gzira and I got the Essence Legends of the Sky in the color 'Like Leo's Pilot Jacket' as a free gift, and I decided to try it out.

02, Like Leo's Pilot Jacket

First off, it is a perfect color for Autumn and Winter. I would say it is a military type of color since it is a mix of Green and Grey. It is quite an opaque color but one coat is not enough to get its full effect. As you can detect from the photo below, the color is not opaque enough after applying only one coat. However, two coats are enough.

1st coat

2nd coat

I was impressed by the drying time, it dried up in a few minutes, compared to other nail polishes which take a long time to dry.

With regards to the packaging, I think it a bit cheap because the cap does not screw all the way, however I don't mind that much since it was a free gift.

Overall, I really like this product and I recommend it to anyone. Looking forward to try out more of these nail polishes.

Hope this review helped,

Until next time,

Take Care

Jessica :)

How to: Carnival/Halloween Look

Hey Beauties,

A few weeks ago one of my best friends visited Venice and gave me a traditional souvenir; a Mask. It is really beautiful and it inspired me to create an eye look based upon it. I think it would be suitable for Halloween and Carnival, for those who do not want to apply exaggerated  makeup.

Step 1:- Apply concealer foundation and powder as needed. Check out how I apply foundation by visiting this link HERE.

Step 2:- apply a light purple color on the lid. I used Essence eye shadow in the color 'In the Clouds'. Simply tap color on to achieve a more opaque color. Leave the inner corner bare for the highlight color.

Step 3:- Apply a dark shimmering purple in the crease and also in the outer corner and blend it out. I applied MAC eye shadow in the color 'Beauty Marked'. Make sure to blend this color with the previous color on the lid for a gradient effect.

Step 4:- Next I applied a light purple shimmer in the inner corner mixed with a silver color for an intensified highlight effect. For the shimmering light purple I used BarryM Dazzle Dust in the color '59' and for the silver color I used the color 'Tinsel' from the Divine Limited Edition Sleek Palette.

Step 5:- I applied purple and fuchsia glitter in the center of my eyelid. I used the fuchsia as a pop of color since the look is quite dark. I used 'Festive' and 'Cranberry' from the Divine Limited Edition Sleek Palette.

Step 6:- Apply a black eyeliner and mascara. I used MUA eyeliner in the color 'Underground' and Catrice 'Fake It' Mascara. As and added touch I applied a silver glitter eyeliner on top of the black eyeliner, I used a Body Shop eyeliner 'Define & Sparkle'.

Step 7:- I applied also the same sequence of colors underneath my eyes and the silver color as a brow bone highlight.

That's the Finished eye look,

Hope you like it, any requests feel free to email us and add us on Facebook HERE

Until next time,

Take Care,

Jessica :)

August & September Favorites

Hey Beauties,

Sorry for the lack of posting but both Rachel and I are very busy at the moment with our work and studies. But bear with us we are trying our best to cope :). So today I have a day off, therefore I decided to post my August and September Favorites. In August I didn't have that much favorites therefore I decided to accumulate them for this month. I have 5 favorite products this month:

First off, my most favorite product is the Essence Long Lasting eye pencil in the color 'Look at me'. I really like this product, it is perfect as an eye highlighter. At the moment I am getting only a couple hours of sleep because I have to study; I found this eye pencil perfect to make my eyes look awake and less red. I apply it in the inner tear duct coupled with a black eyeliner on the lid and some mascara. Also, it can also be used as a base: Perfect! Swatches of this product can be found HERE.

Next up is the Catrice Fake It Mascara. This is a new found favorite. I bought it a couple of weeks ago, however I have been applying it ever since. At first I didn't like it that much, but then after applying approximately 3 coats my lashes are longer and more voluminous. Also, check this wand out!!! I have never seen anything like this, it is perfect for building up volume and to coat even the smallest of lashes. Great Product!

The third product is Deborah Milano Eye Design Quad in 'Each and Every Rose'. I have been using this quad for work because it contains natural colors. I really like these colors and are perfect for any eye color. Also, the eye shadows are quite pigmented and not powdery. This quad is a must have for those who are still starting with applying eye shadows.

The next product is Catrice Skin Finish Compact Power in the color '010 Transparent'. I really like this product since it matifies my skin  and lasts quite a long time. Another thing is that it is quite a large product and very inexpensive, I bought it for only 4.50 euro. Another great product.

Last but not the least, is a perfume. I have numerous perfumes, however lately I have been loving Harajuku Lil' Angels in Lovers. It is a sweet scent with a hint of vanilla. It is not an overpowering smell, therefore it is great as an everyday scent. Also, the packaging is so cute :). The downside is that it is very small, only 1.0 fl oz or 30ml.

Have you tried any of these products?

That is all for today, until next time

Take Care

Review: NYX double sided eye pencil

Hi Beauties,

One of my favourite online makeup brands is NYX. It is amazingly cheap
and good quality. Browsing through the NYX cometics website I found these pencils in the clearing section and decided to try them out.  This product is discontinued on the NYX website,  but it can be found on cherryculture and joy cosmetics on ebay. (Links will be linked down below).  The Double Sided is an eye Liner & Shadow which makes it easier to create an easy and fast smoky look. The brown eyeshadow side is smooth, glides on and wears well without creasing with a primer.   However, the black has a hard texture but if one rolls it between their hands it will be softer and easy to apply. I use both sides as an eye liner. It stays on the waterline for good 2 hours if set with an eye shadow. I like the brown side more since it gives more of a natural look instead of harsh black. If I were to see them in different colours, I would buy them in a heart beat.

Catrice & Essence Haul 2

Heyy Beauties,

So around 2 weeks ago my friends and I decided to visit Gozo and whilst there we went to Arkadia. Of course Rachel and I and our other friend Gail ended up purchasing quite a lot of Catrice and Essence products.

On my part, I really needed a few basic items which I had ran out of:

The first product that I picked up is the Catrice Skin Finish Compact Powder in the lightest color '010 Transparent'. In my previous blog post I mentioned that I wanted to try out a new finishing powder and therefore I decided to try the Catrice one out. Keeping visiting our blog for a review.

Next 2 products are the Catrice False Lashes Mascara 'Fake it!' and Essence Long lasting Eye Pencil in the color 'Black Fever'. I still haven't used the Mascara, however my current mascara is drying out so I thought I better have one ready to use.

I needed a new blending brush and I found the Catrice Double ended Smokey Eyes Brush. I really like the Blending part of the brush. It is small enough to create a V shape and big enough to blend the color out. Also it is quite soft.

The last 3 non- basic items are the: Catrice Ultimate Shine Lipstick in the color '180 Meet Violeta' (right), Catrice Nectar Gloss from the Colibri Collecting in the color 'C03 Gorgeous Blossom' (left) and an Essence eye shadow in the color '55 Shrimp me up' (under).

That's all for today, join our blog for future reviews of these products,

Until next time,

Take Care

Essence & Catrice Haul

Hello Beauties,

Two days ago I visited Tony's Pharmacy, for the first time, and bought some Essence and Catrice products to try them out.

I bought 3 eye shadows, 2 from Essence and 1 from Catrice. The first two are '57, In the clouds' and '32, Jazzed up'.

The Catrice eye shadow is '510, in love with hulk' (love the name hehe)

Next, 2 lipsticks, one from Essence and another from Catrice. The Essence one is a very sheer baby pink color called '01, frosted' and the Catrice lipstick is a very bright coral color called '050, Princess Peach'.

I really needed a new blush therefore I picked up Catrice Multi Color Blush in the color '010, Riviera Rose'. I really love this color and it can also be used as a highlight since it has 4 different colors.

I also wanted to try out Catrice lip glosses therefore I bought Catrice color show in the color '090, No.9 is mine'.

Last but not the least, I bought Essence Long lasting eye pencil, which is a sheer golden color and its called '04, look at me'.

What are your favourite products from Essence and Catrice?
What do you think about Essence foundations? I want to try them out :)

Make sure to Follow this blog for future reviews about these products :)

Looking forward for my next Essence & Catrice purchase,

Take Care

Beauty is our Passion Guests:- Martina and Denise from All Things Fabulous

Hi Beauties :)

We have invited The Fabulous Team from All Things Fabulous to write a Guest Post on our blog:

How To: Ombre Nails

Hi Guys!

I hope you are all well! We would like to thank Jessica and Rachel for hosting us on their blog today!!

We have a very interesting post for you today!! Have you ever heard of Ombre/ Gradient nails? Well we are going to show you how to do glittery ombre nails!!

This type of nail art gives the illusion that the colours used merge into one another as if it is all one nail colour!

Products Used:

  • Essence Nail Polish Remover (Strawberry + Vanilla)
  • OPI 180 edge nail filer
  • Essence Colour & Go Nail polish in 108 Ultimate Pink
  • Essence Remix your Style Limited Edition Nail Polish in 01 Just Can’t get enough
  • Essence Colour & Go 144 Black is Back
  • Essence Marble Mania Limited Edition Nail art kit (sponges + stripers)
  •  Sally Hansen Diamond Shine base and top coat
  • Plastic Surface

Begin by taking off any nail polish you have and filing your nails. I like to file my nails in a square shape! In order to keep your nail polish on longer file the top of your nail also as shown in the above pictures.

Apply your first coat of Pink nail polish, I have chosen the essence Colour & Go in 108 Ultimate Pink.

Apply a second coat of your nail polish and you are finished from you first phase of this look!

We will now start the Ombre/ Gradient effect which we will do with the essence Marble Mania Limited Edition Nail Kit sponge, you may use a foundation sponge also to do this.

We will now use the plastic surface where we will place a little of the nail polish we will be using for sponging. In this case I am using the essence Re-Mix your style Limited edition nail polish in 01 Just can’t get enough. Grab the sponge and with its corner dab on a little nail polish on it.

Starting from the tip of your nail, start sponging down to get the first layer of the ombre nails.

Repeat this process until you are happy with the payoff of the colour.

Next we will paint two lines on each ring finger. For this we will be using the essence Marble Mania Limited edition striper and the essence Colour & Go in 144 Black is Back.

As per the sponging technique, start by placing a little nail polish on the plastic surface. Dip the striper in the nail polish and draw two lines on the ring fingers as shown in the pictures above.

Next we will seal the deal with a top coat! I am using the Sally Hansen Diamond Shine Base and Top Coat.

Last but not least… Clean Up! Grab an ear bud and dab it in the nail polish remover and bid those “fallouts” good bye!

We hope you enjoyed this post!!

Thank you again to Jessica and Rachel for hosting us!!
